Empowering Next-Generation Wireless Systems

IISAC SENSING IN 6G NETWORKS

The Vision and Goal

The vision of the IISAC consortium is to develop an innovative AI / ML-based concept for the implementation and operation of Beyond-5G/6G communication technologies. These technologies are designed to meet the ambitious future requirements of Integrated Integrated Sensing and Communication (IISAC), while significantly reducing complexity and cost. Our goal is to enable high-quality, commercially viable, low-cost, efficient, and competitive deployment of next-generation communication and sensing networks.

Global Impact and Strategic Positioning

The outcomes of the IISAC consortium are designed to be fully aligned with Beyond-5G and 6G technologies and to accelerate their deployment worldwide.

By developing open, interoperable, and AI-enabled IISAC solutions, the consortium aims to:

Lower the barrier of entry for new players in the telecom ecosystem

Reduce dependence on a small number of large Tier-1 vendors

Enable small and medium-sized companies from Israel and other countries to take a central and competitive role in the global 6G market

Our vision is that IISAC-based solutions, developed within this consortium, will help shape the next generation of wireless standards, products, and services – and position our ecosystem as a key technology contributor to future communication and sensing networks.

Consortium Objectives

The main objective of the IISAC consortium is to develop the key building blocks for an advanced unified IISAC network. We focus on research and development of innovative communication technologies based on AI, AGI/Generative AI, and machine learning (ML). These technologies are designed to enable optimal adaptation of Beyond-5G (B5G) and 6G private and public networks to a wide variety of use cases, while maintaining compatibility with next-generation communication standards expected around 2030.

The consortium concentrates on a new IISAC concept that unifies positioning, sensing, and transmission/reception into a single intelligent network, and strengthens with Digital Twin. Through extensive use of AI/ML, the IISAC network will provide:

Predictive capabilities and situation awareness, enabling the network to anticipate changes in traffic, channel conditions, and user behavior

Accurate 4D localization (space and time) of users, devices, and objects for advanced services and mission-critical applications

Ultra-low response times and high reliability to support real-time control, automation, and safety-critical systems

Solutions to current IoT network limitations, such as massive device density, interference, energy constraints, and coverage challenges

Techniques for drastically reducing CAPEX and OPEX — including development, deployment, operation, and maintenance costs — for both private and public communication networks

Why IISAC

Integrated sensing and communication is critical for the evolution of mobile and flexible networks that must support a wide range of applications and services across diverse environments with stringent performance, reliability, latency, energy constraints and affordable cost. By tightly combining communication, sensing, and intelligent control, IISAC networks will serve as a foundational infrastructure for future verticals such as mobility, industry, health, security, and smart cities.

Commercial Advantage

The proposed IISAC concept is intended to become a strategic commercial advantage for Israeli Tier-2 and Tier-3 companies and academic reserchers, enabling them to compete more effectively with global telecom giants. It will open the door to a substantial entry of Israeli companies into the IISAC market, strengthen local innovation, and help position Israel as one of the leading ecosystems worldwide in Beyond-5G/6G communication and sensing technologies.

Target Market

This type of network has high market potential, as integrated sensing and communication is emerging globally as one of the key enabling technologies for Beyond-5G (B5G) and 6G networks. An IISAC network uses radio resources more efficiently, reduces system overhead and complexity, and offers the flexibility to support a wide range of sensing-and-communication applications on a single platform.
